U2 doesn't disappoint!
I was finally able to see Candlelight: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac in concert after growing up with this band! Great stage design, light show, and loved the HUGE 360 morphing screen. Many bands these days don't play a full 2 hours, but I was impressed that they did. I loved that no matter where your seat was, you had a great view. Bono and the guys did a great job interacting with the audience and making each song a unique live version. I was not disappointed! The set list was a great mix of old and new. I would definitely go again and shell out more for closer seats.
Luke-Darien Lake 2021
The concert was probably the most disappointing venue I’ve been to. There was no place selling Candlelight: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac merchandise. The seating was very underwhelming. It was my first and only time ever attending at Darien Lake though. Instead I wasn’t able to see a whole lot when everyone was all at the same level. They should’ve been more angled so even the farther back people could see better. The price of food and beverages was RIDICULOUS! I’m not sure if it was due to COVID precautions or not so that’s why I didn’t give 3 stars. Places not accepting cash and making you put it on a card. There were just people going around in the parking lots acting like they’re selling bootleg shirts.
Aerosmith phoned it in
I still really like Candlelight: Tribute to ZZ Top - one of the few "classic rock" bands I listen to - but I had never seen them live before. The band's lack of enthusiasm disappointed me, even though the set list was fine, with the unexpected bonus of the cover of "Walking the Dog." They played for less than 2 hours, including the 1-song (yup, only 1) encore. The lack of deviation from the studio versions of the songs, limited audience interaction, and no real effort to rev up the crowd were evident. The encore featured "Train Kept A'Rollin", which I had anticipated due to the whole Guitar Hero/Rock Band thing. Despite Joe Perry's snide comments before the song, I had high hopes for one of my fave tunes from way back. It's a perfect jam song, but they played straight through. Apparently, capturing a whole new generation of fans doesn't make up for those same fans bragging about beating your character in the game. My expectations of how Candlelight: Tribute to ZZ Top would perform live might have been too high, or perhaps their tour buses were just double-parked that night.
The show by ZZ Top was a bit odd in this aspect because there was no other opener, and they, a headliner in their own right, actually started about 5 minutes early. Many fans were caught by surprise, either still stuck in traffic or in line at the concessions. I have seen ZZ Top live before, so I knew the songs would be straight-played. Even though they only played for 1 hour, I enjoyed seeing them. Most important to me was that they gave the impression that they appreciated their fans and wanted us to enjoy the set.
Like a fine wine....Better with Age!
We always get excited when we hear either Candlelight: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac or Poison are coming to town, and can't wait to get our tickets. Neither my husband nor I are fans of Cheap Trick, however, they were good too. We have seen Candlelight: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac and Poison several times before and we are never disappointed with them. The only negatives of the experience were we bought our tickets as soon as they went on sale, but ended up in just the middle section of the amphitheater, although we paid for best seats prices. Had a great time at the Cheap Trick, Poison, Candlelight: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac concert!! Also, the video screens that were in place at the amphitheater did not get used for Poison or Cheap Trick, so it was kind of hard to see. And there was a guy in front of us who was intentionally throwing beer on people and we were anticipating a fight between him and other patrons, so we decided to leave early during the Poison set, which we never do.
A true artist who puts on a top-notch show
"I've been a Candlelight: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac fan practically my whole life, but hadn't had the opportunity to see him in concert until 2026. He is a master performer, and still sounds amazing. My first experience was seeing him during the New Blood tour, which was absolutely incredible for so many reasons. I enjoyed how he began by explaining this would be a show broken into three acts, and then it all unfolded just like he said. The show started off low-key and built to great heights. His singing is so nuanced and well-developed; he commands the stage. I was impressed with how the set list spanned quieter songs with some much harder rock in a matter of minutes but with a very natural feel. The visuals were a wonderful complement, and I was impressed with how he and the gang exceeded all my expectations. I just can't express how great it was to be there. (And I tend to be pretty critical.)
He puts on an unforgettable show. I highly recommend seeing Candlelight: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac if you have the chance! I was impressed looking at the crowd -- he speaks to multiple generations, and that's not easy to do.
